Job Description Job Description Position Overview: Reporting to
the Chief Business Officer (CBO), the Director of Concessions is
responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management
of all concession operations throughout City Park. This role
oversees food and beverage services across multiple venues,
including but not limited to the Savoie Center, Quadraplex, Pan
American Stadium, Tad Gormley Stadium, Parker’s Café, and Parker’s
Pizza at Carousel Gardens. The Director ensures efficient
operations, regulatory compliance, fiscal responsibility, and a
consistently high-quality guest experience. The position also
supports special events (such as Happy 3rd of July and Celebration
in the Oaks) and mobile concession operations. Success in this role
requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and a focus on
profitability while controlling costs. Essential DutiesManagement
Responsibilities (30%) Serve as the primary point of contact for
all concession operations, facilities, and equipment. Provide
leadership to Concessions staff in alignment with City Park’s
mission, policies, and operational standards. Develop, implement,
and maintain departmental policies and procedures in collaboration
with the CBO and Human Resources. Plan and manage logistics and
operations to ensure exceptional customer service, operational
efficiency, and facility presentation. Select, oversee, and manage
outside vendors; negotiate contracts in compliance with procurement
and contractor policies. Oversee full-time and part-time staff,
including scheduling, payroll, and performance management. Ensure
all concession equipment is properly maintained, operational, and
safe; oversee maintenance contracts and respond promptly to safety
concerns. Regularly evaluate menu offerings and product quality to
ensure established standards are met. Place product orders or
supervise ordering by assigned staff. Address and resolve customer
concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Participate in leadership, departmental, staff, and safety meetings
as required. Coordinate staff training, certifications, and ongoing
professional development. Supervisory Responsibilities (25%)
Oversee daily scheduling for all concession facilities. Serve as
the first point of escalation for emergencies and urgent
operational issues. Supervise assigned staff to ensure alignment
with job descriptions and daily responsibilities. Develop and
implement an annual maintenance plan for concession facilities and
kitchen equipment. Provide overall direction, coordination, and
evaluation of the department while fostering a culture of safety,
accountability, and excellence in customer service. Execute
supervisory responsibilities in compliance with organizational
policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Manage hiring, training,
performance evaluations, discipline, and employee relations. Ensure
accurate and timely submission of payroll, timesheets, and leave
requests. Maintain prompt and regular attendance to all required
meetings including Directors, All-Staff and Safety meetings.
Scheduling Responsibilities (25%) Develop and manage staffing
schedules, reassigning staff as needed to meet operational demands.
Ensure staffing plans are optimized for efficiency and service
quality. Coordinate with Athletics and Amusements Departments to
align concession staffing with the master events calendar. Ensure
events are appropriately staffed based on venue size, attendance,
and operational needs. Provide staffing support for Park-sponsored,
shared-space, and fundraising events. Ensure appropriate management
coverage for all concession operations and special events. Fiscal
Responsibilities (15%) Maintain accurate and timely records for
departmental purchase orders, invoices, and financial transactions.
Manage operating budgets, ensuring expenses and revenues are
properly tracked and reported. Prepare cost projections for capital
projects, annual revenues, and operating expenses. Develop menu
pricing recommendations that reflect cost coverage and revenue
goals. Draft the annual department budget in collaboration with the
CBO. Conduct monthly inventory counts and petty cash
reconciliations Other Responsibilities (5%) Other duties may be
assigned by the Chief Business Officer Other venues and positions
may be assigned to this position as required. Minimum requirements
High school diploma/GED required 5 years working as a leader in a
fast-paced multiple venue retail outlet Ability to work nights and
weekends Valid Louisiana State driver’s license Louisiana
Responsible Vendor Permit, TIPS training, and Serve Safe
Certification required Must be willing to be practically involved
and lead by example Strong interpersonal skills Team player who
works productively with wide range of people Effective listening,
verbal, and written communication skills Problem-solving,
analytical ability, resourceful, and a self-starter Accuracy and
attention to detail Experience in managing and controlling
inventory Experience with computerized POS Knowledge of Microsoft
Office PREFERRED College Degree preferred (Hotel, Restaurant, and
