Job Description Fellowship-Trained Spine Surgeon (Orthopaedic or Neurosurgery) Location: Metairie, Louisiana (Greater New Orleans) Specialty Hospital Position Type: Full-Time Opportunity: We are a seeking a fellowship-trained Spine Surgeon (Orthopaedic or Neurosurgery background) to join its expanding musculoskeletal practice in Metairie, LA . This is a unique opportunity to build a high-quality spine program within a physician-aligned specialty hospital focused on efficiency, outcomes, and surgeon leadership. This position is ideally suited for a surgeon with entrepreneurial interest who is seeking a clear, structured pathway to ownership in both the practice and our Specialty Hospital . Key Responsibilities · Evaluate and manage patients with degenerative, traumatic, and complex spinal disorders · Provide comprehensive non-operative and operative spine care · Perform spine surgery at our specialty hospital, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar procedures consistent with fellowship training · Participate in shared call coverage as required · Collaborate closely with APPs, anesthesia, nursing, rehabilitation, and referring physicians · Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMR · Participate in program development, quality initiatives, and growth of the spine service line Qualifications · MD or DO · Residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery or Neurosurgery · Completion of an ACGME-accredited Spine Fellowship · Board Eligible or Board Certified · Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure and DEA registration · Strong clinical judgment, patient-centered communication, and interest in physician ownership and leadership Practice & Facility Highlights · Surgeon-friendly OR access with efficient block time · Modern spine technology and equipment supporting MIS and complex spine procedures · Established referral network with immediate patient volume · Experienced administrative and operational support Compensation, Growth & Ownership · Competitive base salary with productivity-based incentives · Signing bonus and relocation assistance (if applicable) · Comprehensive benefits package including malpractice coverage, CME, and paid time off · Defined pathway to ownership · Long-term leadership, governance, and strategic growth opportunities Location Metairie offers an excellent quality of life with easy access to New Orleans’ renowned culture, dining, and entertainment, along with proximity to the Gulf Coast.
